Separation Abilities of Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled with Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry for the Discrete Detection of Sequence Isomeric Peptides

چکیده

The separation and discrete detection of isomeric sequence peptides with similar properties are important tasks for analytical science. Three different peptide isomers 12 amino-acid residues long, containing direct reverse regions the alanine-valine-proline-isoleucine (AVPI) motif, were partially separated discretely detected from their mixture using two approaches. Capillary electrophoresis enabled optical close to baseline. ability separate these identify them mass spectra has also been demonstrated by ion-mobility tandem spectrometry. Moreover, first time, capillary spectrometry connected online have shown a multidirectional isomers.

Separation of isomeric peptides using electrospray ionization/high-resolution ion mobility spectrometry.

In this paper, the first examples of baseline separation of isomeric macromolecules by electrospray ionization/ion mobility spectrometry (ESI/IMS) at atmospheric pressure are presented. The behavior of a number of different isomeric peptides in the IMS was investigated using nitrogen as a drift gas. The IMS was coupled to a quadrupole mass spectrometer, which was used for identification and sel...

High resolution ion mobility-mass spectrometry for separation and identification of isomeric lipids.

Lipidomics is a particularly difficult analytical challenge due to the number and importance of isomeric species that are known or postulated in biological samples. Current separation and identification techniques are too often insufficiently powerful, slow or ambiguous. High resolution, low field ion mobility coupled to mass spectrometry is shown here to have sufficient performance to represen...

Traveling-wave ion mobility mass spectrometry analysis of isomeric modified peptides arising from chemical cross-linking.

Traveling-wave ion mobility (TWIM) coupled to mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a powerful tool for structural and conformational analysis of proteins and peptides, allowing the analysis of isomeric peptides (or proteins) with the same sequence but modified at different residues. This work demonstrates the use of the novel TWIM-MS technique to separate isomeric peptide ions derived from che...

Effect of Capillary Rinsing Protocol on the Reproducibility of Separation in Capillary Electrophoresis with Indirect UV Detection

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) with indirect UV detection is an interesting analytical method for the analysis of drugs and pharmaceuticals. Good and reproducible capillary quality is needed to develop robust methods and to facilitate method transfer in CE. It is widely accepted that preconditioning procedures are indispensable in capillary electrophoresis in order to achieve reproducibility of...
